MOSAICS

“Mosaics” is Encounters Magazine’s collaboration with the Mishkin Gallery’s film exhibit, Roots and Tides: Black Cinemas in the Caribbean Basin, curated by Dr. Rojo Robles. Much like mosaics themselves—mixed materials coming together to form a greater whole—this publication explores the interwoven histories, cultures, and identities shaped by the African diaspora’s enduring legacy in Latin America and the Caribbean. Through the photography, design, and written work of the Baruch community, we invite you to reflect on how identity is formed through heritage, memory, and tradition.
