SUBMISSIONS
Encounters Magazine is NOW currently accepting submissions for the 2025-26 school year!
If you would like to submit your artwork and written pieces to be published in the 2025-26 edition, email your work to submitencounters@gmail.com. All submissions must be clearly titled and attributed.
Please note only enrolled CUNY students in the corresponding semesters can submit; this year: Fall 2025 and Spring 2026 enrolled undergrads!

DEADLINES
Our upcoming zine release has a submission deadline of December 20, 2025, and we welcome submissions that reflect your unique and creative talents.
Our main magazine issue has a submission deadline of January 1, 2026, and we encourage contributors to send in their work early to ensure full consideration for publication.
SUBMISSION CRITERIA
Art Submissions
Art submissions may include photography, graphic design, illustrations, and other visual works. Please name all submitted pieces. You may submit up to 25 pieces in total. We do not accept .jpeg files; all artwork must be submitted as .png files.
Writing Submissions
Writing submissions may include short stories, poetry, essays, fiction, and nonfiction. Please name your pieces and submit them in .doc format only. Written submissions should not exceed 2,500 words. There is no limit to the number of files you may submit.
Feature Submissions
Feature submissions should combine both writing and art. These pieces are expected to demonstrate a high level of creativity and strong attention to detail.
